  • Showcase CSUMB's benefit programs and providers;
  • Provide Open Enrollment information and assist employees in making plan changes, including HCRA/ DCRA annual enrollments; as well as
  • Highlight the different programs and companies in the Monterey County area that promote healthy lifestyles.

The Benefits & Wellness Fair is a university-sponsored function and we want employees to have the opportunity to attend.  Should employees wish to attend the fair during work hours, please coordinate your schedule with your MPP supervisor, allowing for a reasonable amount of paid time to partake in the festivities.

  Department Exercise Group Sign-ups

CSUMB and the American Heart Association (AHA) have partnered to form Department Exercise Groups (DEG), where employees are encouraged through a low-key environment to make their M.A.R.K. on wellness: Team CSC - 2nd Quarter Highest Team Step Average 2010

  • Motivation to Move

  • Accountability
  • Resilience
  • Knowledge

For a 5-month period from October 1 - February 28, employees track their physical activities and/or daily caloric intake from food through a free tool offered by AHA to companies called MyStart! Online.

Every 2 - 3 months, the department team with the highest step average will earn the honor of signing the 'Sole Power' Shoe and showcase it in their department until the next quarter.  Complementary dining VIP passes are given as the icing on the cake...uh... the hummus on the carrot, courtesy of the University Corporation.

Employees will not only be competing individually and as a department, but as a university against other health conscious companies taking part in this program.

Signing the Sole Power ShoeAll activity levels are welcome.  It's a great way to track your progress and gear up for the Workplace Walk-off Challenge in the Spring!

Team registration will be during the Benefits & Wellness Fair from 11am - 2pm in the Universtiy Center Lobby so get your department team ready!  The official kick-off will be October 1st.

Please visit the Department Exercise Group (DEG) webpage for more information.

Don't miss this new, exciting opportunity that makes healthy living fun and attainable!

Make your M.A.R.K. on Wellness!

To promote the Department Exercise Groups mentioned above and to encourage our campus community to embrace healthy lifestyles, attendees will have a chance at the Benefits & Wellness Fair to answer this question: How do you make your M.A.R.K. on wellness?

In essence, how do you:

  • motivate yourself to exercise?

  • stay accountable to reach your goals?
  • bounce back or be resilent when obstacles cross your path?
  • empower yourself with knowledge about how to live a healthy life?

You will have a chance to offer encouragement and tips to attendees by writing down your responses on a jungle leaf, collectively "making your mark" on this event. Look for the booth in the University Center Lobby during the fair.
