FAQ
Do I need to submit an application & resume for each job?
Yes. Each position requires a separate application and resume be submitted on-line. When you first apply, you will create a profile using a unique email address and password. Once your profile is created, you have the ability review your submitted application(s), and apply for a position starting with your profile.
Can you fax an application to me?
Unfortunately, we are unable to fax applications. If you are unable to apply on-line, please call CSUMB Human Resources at (831) 582-3389.
Can't you use my resume and application that's already on file?
Unfortunately, each position posted is unique; therefore, we require that you submit a separate application and resume for each position.
The screening deadline of _ /_/10 has passed; can I still apply?
All positions are open until filled. A completed CSUMB official application and resume must be received in the Human Resources Office by 5:00pm on the Application Screening Date to be guaranteed a review. Applications received after this date will be reviewed at the discretion of the university.
I tried to submit my online application, but when I hit the submit key I received an error message.
If your session gets interrupted before you finish, i.e. the modem connection fails, you will need to start over and re-enter your information.
How long will it be before I hear about my application?
The process may take six (6) to eight (8) weeks; processing for administrative and professional positions may take longer. If selected for interview, candidates will be notified by telephone to schedule an interview appointment. (Persons not selected for interview will be notified by mail only after the position closes and the successful candidate has been chosen.) The selection committee will make the final selection and forward the decision to the Human Resources Office.
If I submit supporting materials for a position such as CDs, slides, or a portfolio, will you return these items at my request at the completion of the recruitment?
Materials submitted become the property of CSUMB and will not be returned.
Employee Orientation (as a new employee what should I expect?)
As a new employee you will be introduced to the university on your first day through a short in-processing discussion, benefit orientation and completing your new hire paperwork. You will be at your office by 11:00. There is a follow-on New Employee Orientation provided by the Professional Development Office that is scheduled quarterly to provide all employees the tools for a successful career at CSUMB.
